Ehrmann hit by hacking attack

Date: 14.05.2021Source: IDM

Last week, German Ehrmann Group was hit by a targeted hacker attack with an blackmail Trojan and had only limited access to the IT-supported production and warehouse systems. The main problem was access to warehouse data; deliveries were only possible to a limited extent. Since last Friday, the processes have been running regularly again. The delivery and processing of milk as well as the payment of wages were not affected by the incident.

Restrictions on data access from the home office are still in place. Ehrmann is bridging this with a corona-compatible reallocation of work shifts in the company. Overall, there was no loss of data, as the backups could be restored.

In order to counter the hacker attack with targeted measures and to restore normal operations as quickly as possible, the Ehrmann Group immediately set up a crisis team. Within this framework, the security precautions were also intensively reviewed. The responsible authorities were also informed immediately. The extent of the damage to Ehrmann cannot yet be quantified.
